Speaking on a special news program on Saturday evening, Shekarchi said the most important transformation in Iran’s Armed Forces after the Islamic Revolution was the shift from conventional warfare to asymmetric warfare.

“Methods of conventional warfare are vulnerable against asymmetric warfare,” he said, explaining that asymmetric warfare means confronting the enemy’s expensive and heavy weapons with less costly, simpler but more effective and practical defensive equipment.

He said Iran’s asymmetric warfare tactics are based on sacrifice, faith, and spirituality, adding that post-Islamic Revolution Iran has competed with its foes and even moved ahead of them.

Shekarchi also credited late commander Hassan Tehrani Moghaddam with making Iran fully self-sufficient in the missile sector.

The senior spokesperson said the Armed Forces prioritize information security to maintain an element of surprise and that Iran’s enemies have realized they had made wrong calculations about the country’s resilience and defensive capabilities.

“If the enemy had even a little sense, it would not have attacked Iran,” he said.

On the Strait of Hormuz, Shekarchi said any vessel seeking to pass outside the Iranian route would not have security.

“Americans should dream of intervening in the Strait of Hormuz, and if they intervene in the Strait of Hormuz, they will be slapped,” he said.

He also said the United States has no choice but to leave West Asia, adding, “The sooner they leave, the less damage they will suffer,” and that the region would certainly become secure after their departure.
