According to Isar News, Araqchi made the remarks during a meeting with Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty in Baghdad on Saturday, on the sidelines of the 52nd session of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC). The two officials discussed bilateral relations and regional and international developments.

Araqchi stressed that 12 years of tensions and conflict have demonstrated that “there is no military solution or approach” to the Yemen issue. He also voiced Iran’s readiness to provide any assistance aimed at ending the hostilities between Saudi Arabia and Yemen.

The Iranian foreign minister then briefed his Egyptian counterpart on Tehran’s positions regarding regional developments and its latest diplomatic consultations through mediators.

Addressing the situation in the Strait of Hormuz, Araqchi said the insecurity in the strategic waterway is a direct consequence of the acts of aggression by the US and the Israeli regime that began on February 28 and have continued in various forms.

Iran remains committed to diplomacy and regional peace and has consistently pursued diplomatic efforts to reduce tensions responsibly, Araqchi stated.

However, he lashed out at the US for repeatedly reneging on its commitments, citing Washington’s latest breach of an agreement just two weeks after signing a memorandum on ending the war.

The two ministers further discussed the Palestinian issue. Araqchi said Palestine remains the most important issue in the Muslim world, recalling the genocide of Palestinians and crimes committed in the occupied Palestinian territories. He called for urgent and coordinated action by the Muslim world to end the occupation and genocide and bring an end to the Zionist regime’s impunity.
