Two offending oil tankers catch fire after hitting mine in unauthorized Hormuz route: Iran

The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Navy says two more oil tankers caught fire after an explosion as they were attempting to pass through an unauthorized route in the Strait of Hormu

According to Isar News, In a statement late on Sunday, the IRGC's Public Relations office announced that the two vessels struck naval mines, with one of them —a supertanker— being engulfed in flames following a powerful explosion.

It said the tankers, now at a complete halt following the incident, had deactivated their navigation and identification systems as intended to transit covertly, at the instigation of the terrorist US military.

Iran has consistently asked vessels to follow authorized routes in coordination with the Persian Gulf Strait Authority to avoid any untoward incident.

The IRGC accuses the US military of escalating maritime tensions by deceiving shipping and insurance companies and forcing them to sail through unauthorized routes, disrupting the management of the Strait of Hormuz.
