Programs marking 40th day of martyr Leader’s burial announced for Tehran

Mohsen Mahmoudi declared on Monday that people across Tehran Province will attend commemorative ceremonies on Tuesday, August 18, at 5 p.m. at the Imam Khomeini Grand Mosalla in Tehran.

He added that on Thursday, August 20, all martyrs’ cemeteries, mosques, holy shrines and Hosseiniyehs (Islamic mourning halls) across the province will host commemorative programs. Participants will also honor martyrs with flowers and attend ceremonies marking the 40th day since the burial of the martyred Leader.

Mahmoudi also said a separate ceremony would be held Thursday at the shrine of Hazrat Abdol-Azim Hassani in Tehran.

He noted that mourning gatherings will be held in mosques across the province after evening prayers, coinciding with the anniversary of the martyrdom of Imam Hassan (PBUH) on Thursday. Participants will then march toward city squares and designated nighttime gathering points.

Other programs include decorating urban and rural areas, broadcasting Surah Al-Fath from mosque minarets, holding commemorative ceremonies at government offices and institutions on Wednesday, organizing cultural exhibitions, and delivering speeches before Friday prayers to discuss the personality and legacy of the martyred Leader of the Islamic Revolution.
