Top Iranian General Warns Regional States against Aiding US
Iran’s highest-ranking military commander warned the Persian Gulf states that any assistance to the US military would amount to participation in military action against Iran.
In a message on Wednesday, Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces Major General Ali Abdollahi said Iran is closely monitoring military activities at regional bases and warned countries that host US forces against facilitating their operations.
“The countries on the southern shores of the Persian Gulf that, by issuing various statements, declare that they do not allow the US to use their territories against Iran should know that nothing escapes our notice,” he said.
“The presence of this number of military aircraft, particularly aerial refueling aircraft, at regional bases without the knowledge of the host countries seems unlikely,” the top commander reminded the regional governments.
“We warn that any assistance and facilitation provided to the aggressive US military is tantamount to participation with the US military forces,” he warned.
