Iran Asks UN to Push for Ending Israeli Aggression against Lebanon

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi called on the United Nations to step up efforts to halt the Zionist regime’s aggression and occupation of Lebanon

In a meeting in Tehran on Tuesday, Araqchi and UN Special Envoy for Lebanon Jean Arnault discussed the latest developments and situation in Lebanon.

Arnault presented his assessment of the latest developments and the situation in Lebanon amid the continuation of Israeli occupation, as well as efforts to consolidate the ceasefire and end the war.

He expressed hope that, through the continued effective role of Iran and other regional parties, the war would end and lasting peace and security would be established in the region, particularly in Lebanon.

Araqchi, for his part, reaffirmed Iran’s principled position in support of Lebanon’s territorial integrity and national sovereignty.

The Iranian foreign minister called for stronger UN efforts and initiatives to stop the aggression and occupation of Lebanon by the Israeli regime.

Araqchi also declared Tehran’s readiness to continue consultations and cooperation with the United Nations and regional countries to help preserve Lebanon’s stability and security.

During his visit to Tehran, Arnault also held separate meetings with Majid Takht Ravanchi, Deputy Foreign Minister for Political Affairs, and Mahdi Shoushtari, Assistant Foreign Minister and Director General for West Asia and North Africa, for talks about the developments in Lebanon and the region.
